The surface of the eye is covered with a fatty layer which protects it and prevents
the evaporation of tears. The fatty secretions that make up this layer are
produced by the meibomian glands, located in the eyelids. If these secretions thicken, the meibomian glands may become blocked. This causes blepharitis, chalazia and dry eyes.
Scientific studies have shown that local application of heat causes
fluidization and evacuation of secretions to empty the eyelid
(Blepharitis, chalazion) and restore the protective lipid layer of the ocular
surface. Each application should be followed by a massage of the eyelids to facilitate the evacuation of these secretions.
